A trained security dog and its handler are the most effective deterrent available in private security. On large, dark or open sites, one K9 team covers ground that would otherwise need several officers — and detects what human senses cannot.
Yes. General purpose security dogs are trained to work under handler control at all times. Your staff are briefed on how the team operates, and patrol routes and timings are planned around your working hours.
The handler assesses and controls the situation. In most cases the presence alone causes the intruder to leave. If not, the handler contains the area and calls the police — our officers detain only where legally entitled and safe to do so.
The hourly rate is higher, but one K9 team frequently replaces two or three officers on a large site. On the sites where K9 is the right answer, the total cost is often lower.
Yes — and unpredictability is an advantage. Many clients use K9 on randomised nights alongside standard cover, so the site can never be assumed to be dog-free.
