Security Risk Assessment

Find out what you actually need before you buy it

Most businesses buy security reactively — after an incident, and usually more than they need in one area and nothing in another. A proper survey establishes where you are genuinely exposed, so the money goes where it does something.

01

What the Survey Covers

  • Perimeter and boundary. Fencing condition, height, climbability, gates, natural surveillance and points where a boundary can simply be walked around.
  • Access points. Every door, window, roof light, service hatch and loading bay — including the ones nobody thinks of as an entrance.
  • Lighting. Coverage, blind spots, whether lighting actually helps or simply creates deep shadow next to bright areas.
  • Existing measures. Whether current alarms, cameras and locks are positioned and maintained to do what you believe they do.
  • Procedures. Key control, opening and closing routines, contractor and visitor management, lone worker arrangements.
  • Asset and threat mapping. What is worth taking, how it would be removed, and who realistically would try.
02

What You Receive

  • A written report identifying each vulnerability, with photographs and a plain explanation of why it matters — no jargon, no scare tactics.
  • Findings ranked by risk, so you can see what to fix first rather than facing an undifferentiated list.
  • Costed recommendations, including options that cost nothing at all. A gate that gets locked properly beats a camera watching it being left open.
  • Clear separation between what needs a supplier and what your own team can fix this week.
  • A document you can put in front of insurers, landlords, your board or an HSE inspector as evidence of due diligence.
03

Why It's Worth Doing First

  • It stops you buying the wrong thing. Plenty of businesses install expensive systems that address a risk they never actually had.
  • It gives you a baseline. When something does happen, you can show what was identified, what was actioned and when.
  • It supports insurance discussions. Documented risk management is a conversation many businesses have never had with their broker.
  • It is independent of the sale. We will tell you where you need nothing — which is not something you get from a survey run by someone selling equipment.
Common Questions

Security Risk Assessment — Questions We Get Asked

A typical commercial site takes two to four hours on site, with the written report following within a few working days. Larger or multi-building sites take longer.

No. The report is yours regardless, including any recommendation to use another supplier or do nothing. It is free of charge if you go on to take a service contract with us, and charged as a standalone piece of work if you don't.

Where guarding is the right answer we will say so, and we would be a poor supplier if we didn't. But the report separates what needs a security company from what needs a locksmith, better lighting or simply a change in procedure.

Yes. For multi-site portfolios we survey each location and provide a comparative summary, which usually makes it obvious where the budget should go first.
